The Higher Institute of Petroleum Technologies is one of the most important institutions of higher technical education affiliated with the Ministry of Technical and Vocational Education in Libya. The institute is located at the western entrance of the historic city of Germa, pursuant to Cabinet Resolution No. (10) of 2014. Our aim is to bridge the gap between academic education and field needs through advanced educational programs that combine theoretical knowledge with direct practical applications, thereby contributing to supporting sustainable development and the economic renaissance of the country.

I am pleased to welcome you to the website of the Higher Institute of Petroleum Techniques in Ubari, one of the modern higher technical institutes in Libya. The institute specializes in preparing specialized technical cadres to serve the oil and energy sector, which is considered one of the main pillars of the Libyan economy and one of the most important drivers of development. Accordingly, the institute is committed to providing high-quality, advanced education and practical training, equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and professional values that enable them to contribute efficiently to the development of this vital sector.

Mr. Zakaria Aboulqasim Abdelrazak Al-Arabi
Member of the founding committee of the institute with extensive academic experience in teaching thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and renewable energy since 2013. Previously held the position of Director of the Office of Scientific and Technical Affairs at the institute
Mr. Al-Taher Omar Ali Al-Ridha
Worked as a supervising engineer for the maintenance of mechanical equipment at Ubari Airport. He is an assistant professor with extensive teaching experience in central air conditioning, production machinery, and workshop technology.
Mr. Abdul Salam Muhammad Al-Ghali Khairat
Previously held the position of Head of the Renewable Energy Department at the institute. Possesses advanced technical skills in programming using MATLAB and has been a faculty member at the institute since 2016.
Mr. Almukhtar Abdunnbe Attfreg Dawood
Specialist in industrial automation control (PLC/SCADA) and computer networks. Previously held the position of Director of the Registration, Study, and Examinations Office (2018-2023) and Head of the Renewable Energy Department in 2016.
Mr. Mohamed Masaud Mohamed Dwa
An expert in architecture and project management with 24 years of experience. He currently serves as a resident faculty member since 2014 , and previously served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Atomic Energy Corporation in Libya (2015–2018).
Mr. Abdulbaset Abdussalam Saed Etraisha
He has extensive academic experience teaching Mathematics and Biostatistics at several universities and higher institutes , including the University of Sabha , the University of Zawiya , and the Specific Training Centre for Oil Industries.
